Have You Forgiven Your Prodigal?

Have you forgiven your prodigal for the pain, worry, fear, costs, sleepless nights, and sadness inflicted on you by his or her bad decisions? And there is also the loss of dreams and hopes for their living the abundant life planned for them by the Father. Have your forgiven your prodigal for that loss as well?

Forgive them so you can be forgiven.

Show them grace.

Love them unconditionally, showing them how the Father loves.

And when they hurt you again by their actions or words, forgive them again. Forgiveness will free you.

If you are having difficulty forgiving, ask the Lord to help you, and He will. It is His perfect will for you.

Ask the Father to take away the pain and hurt you experience when certain memories surface or when you are hurt again. He can heal you and take away the pain.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:14-15, “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses” (NKJV).
