We don’t give up just because the Lord seems to be waiting to answer. The Bible talks often about waiting:
- “Blessed are all those who wait for Him” (Isaiah 30:18).
- “Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me” (Micah 7:7).
- “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lost heart” (Galatians 6:9).
So, “Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance” (Psalm 42:5). We are blessed when we wait. He will hear us. We will reap!
We wash our faces, put on our dancing shoes, and work our calling. We wait for the Lord and hope in His Word (Psalm 130:5), for “[t]hus says the LORD: ‘Refrain your voice from weeping, And your eyes from tears; For your work shall be rewarded, says the LORD, And they shall come back from the land of the enemy’” (Jeremiah 31:16).
