His Harvest

“Then He said to them, ‘The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest’ ” (Luke 10:2 NKJV).

Did you notice that it said, “His harvest”?

So what is our my part? Our part is prayer, and sometimes we are the laborers, the answer to ours or another parent’s or grandparent’s prayer. This takes the responsibility to save or to cause our prodigal to be saved off of us and puts it in God’s more-than-capable hands. This annihilates our inclination to tell God HOW to reap HIS harvest and puts us back into our true role: Asker.

No, God will not force them to be saved, but He will set them up to be saved.

He will turn them from darkness to light.

He will remove the heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.

He will send the laborers into his harvest field.

He will cause them to come to their senses.

He will reveal truth to them.

He will open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light.

He will reveal the lies of Satan.

He will have mercy.

He will be gracious.

He will convict them of sin.

He will leave the 99 and rescue them.

He will send forth His word and not allow it to come back without doing the work He intended.

He will protect them from Satan.

He will knock.

He will answer when they call on Him.

He will illuminate the dark places.

He will send angels to fight for them.

He will answer so many other prayers prayed in His will. . .

. . . but the harvest is His and His alone.
