This morning God got my attention:
1. In my on-line Bible study I was directed to Dephne Madyara’s YouTube channel for the episode, “Prayer to Hear the Voice of God.” She prayed that God would: remove every hindrance from hearing His voice; remove every blockage from hearing His voice; remove those who speak lies to him/her from the pit of hell; open his/her ears to hear God. Open his/her eyes to see God. Give him/her a hunger and a thirst for God’s word. I was moved by this prayer and took notes and stopped to pray this for someone I love.
2. I checked my e-mail, where each day I receive the Moms in Prayer International daily prayer for my children. This is what I found: God, may ________ see with her eyes, hear with her ears, understand with her heart and turn and be healed (Isaiah 6:10b NIV). When I read this, I giggled. It was obvious that God was speaking louder than usual.
3. During breakfast I am reading Live a Praying Life: Open Your Life to God’s Power and Provision by Jennifer Kennedy Dean, and she used this verse in my reading for this morning: “And Elisha prayed, and said, ‘LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.’ Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha” (2 Kings 6:17 NKJV). When I read this, I was extremely moved. I could feel God tapping me on the shoulder.
4. The next thing came while I was editing the book I am writing on praying for prodigals. I came across this prayer starter:
Promise: “Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, ‘Ephphatha,’ that is, ‘Be opened.’ Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly” (Mark 7:34-35).
Praise: Jehovah Rapha, The LORD our Healer.
Prayer: Our Father, You are no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34), and I pray that You will call out, ‘Ephaphatha; be opened” to __________. I pray that his/her ears will be opened to Your truth (Mark 7:34-35). I pray this in Jesus’ name.
By this time, I was at complete attention. In the past, God has shown me maybe two similar things in the course of a short time, maybe three. But this was four clear times within a few hours. I just had to share it with you as well as pray for someone that I love that is apparently having a hard time experiencing God.
I hope you will borrow this unction and do the same.
We have a promise in Isaiah 35:5: “Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.”
