They’re Coming!

There are times, lots of times, in the life of those praying for prodigals that it seems the promise is never going to come true, but God promised.

Isaiah 49:16 is powerful: “Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me” (KJV). God is continually aware of the walls holding our promises at bay, and our limitations are a non-issue to Him in the fulfilling of His promises. We are engraved on the palms of His hands. He has not forgotten us or anything important to us.

The surrounding verses BLESSED ME SO MUCH! They are full of promise and hope. I believe that because we are Abraham’s children spiritually, they are true for us, too. Read them through as many times as you need so your faith can be increased. God has a plan for deliverance for our prodigals to bring them back to Himself. I will underline some things that stuck out to me. Perhaps you can do the same in your Bible.

“But Zion said, ‘The Lord has forsaken me,
And my Lord has forgotten me.’

Can a woman forget her nursing child,

And not have compassion on the son of her womb?
Surely they may forget,
Yet I will not forget you.
See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your walls are continually before Me.
Your sons shall make haste;
Your destroyers and those who laid you waste
Shall go away from you.
Lift up your eyes, look around and see;
All these gather together and come to you.
As I live,’ says the Lord,
You shall surely clothe yourselves with them all as an ornament,
And bind them on you as a bride does.’

Thus says the Lord God:

Behold, I will lift My hand in an oath to the nations,

And set up My standard for the peoples;
They shall bring your sons in their arms,
And your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders; …
Then you will know that I am the Lord,
For they shall not be ashamed who wait for Me.’

Shall the prey be taken from the mighty,

Or the captives of the righteous be delivered?

But thus says the Lord:

Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away,

And the prey of the terrible be delivered;
For I will contend with him who contends with you,
And I will save your children‘ (Isaiah 49:14-18, 22, 23b-25 NKJV).

They’re coming back to God!

    Amen. Today was my first email from you. I’ve been studying with the lord most of the day & having an exceptional experience. Then I just finished my other email of day 24 on a 30 day prayer challenge for my son..then saw your first letter. Pumped up i opened it & saw ‘the lord has forgotten me” & got all defensive that the tone was negative BEFORE i finished reading &realized what it was. I’m familiar w the v. about ‘can a mother forget her child’ & have it marked on a prayer list already. The rest of that passage i always saw as very specific to Israel. But once i readjusted my eyes & read it a couple of times i see how that fits. The Lord has been working on &with me–im used to just seeking a vrs or two..but no i do need to expand my expectations..this whole thing would make an excellent prayer. The Lord has brought me to the belief already that His Word often has many layers of meaning. I mean that we see it often has repeated patterns, things happen in cycles, even prophecies fulfilled more than once. Indeed we are His adopted children grafted into the vine and these promises can indeed be for us. God bless you today.
