Free Feet

Prodigals are stuck.

They are stuck in an addiction, a lifestyle, a hurt, a habit, a lie, a stronghold, a sin. We desperately want them to be unstuck—to have free feet!

What would free feet mean for them?

Blessings

“Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners. … He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper” (Psalm 1:1, 3).

Mercy and truth: “All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies” (Psalm 25:10).

Righteousness: “He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake” (Psalm 23:3).

Protection: “He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path” (Proverbs 2:8–9).

God’s awareness: “You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways” (Psalm 139:3).

Guidance

“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11).

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye” (Psalm 32:8).

“Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).

“Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God,
Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go” (Isaiah 48:17).

Solid Under Footing

“For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock” (Psalm 27:5).

“He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps” (Psalm 40:2).

“He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved” (Psalm 62:2).

“Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved” (Psalm 55:22).

Life

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13–14).

“‘Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?’ says the Lord God, ‘and not that he should turn from his ways and live?’” (Ezekiel 18:23).

Our Father, unstick __________. Snatch him/her out of the miry clay, and deliver him/her out of deep waters.; do not let him/her sink (Psalm 69:14). Bring __________ up out of the horrible pit, and put a new song in his/her mouth (Psalm 40:2–3). I ask that You set __________’s feet on a rock, and that he/she will know his/her salvation comes from You and that You are his/her rock and defense (Psalm 62:1–2). In Jesus’ name I pray.
