I’ve been keeping a list of verse that remind us that God teaches sinners, which includes our prodigals. This brings us comfort, because prodigals don’t always listen to the godly wisdom that comes from praying loved ones, and sometimes they even cancel praying loved ones, but they can’t stop or cancel the Lord.

Here are the verses that are straightforward:

• “Good and upright is the LORD; Therefore He teaches sinners in the way” (Psalm 25:8 NKJV).
• “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them” (Ezekiel 36:27).
• “All your children shall be taught by the LORD, And great shall be the peace of your children: (Isaiah 54:13).
• “‘I have seen his ways, and will heal him; I will also lead him, And restore comforts to him And to his mourners’” (Isaiah 57:18).
• “‘As for Me,’ says the LORD, ‘this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,’ says the LORD, ‘from this time and forevermore’” (Isaiah 59:21).
• “‘It is written in the prophets, “And they shall all be taught by God.” Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me’” (John 6:45).
• “‘For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people’” (Hebrews 8:10)

These verses are powerful, and we can hold onto them as promises, pray into them, count on them, meditate on them.

And, if our thoughts take us to thoughts of their being able to reject what the Lord says just like they reject what we say? We can hold onto Ezekiel 11:19, which gives this promise: “Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 11:19). He gives them teachable hearts!

God teaches sinners in THE WAY!
