I had an encounter with God this morning I want to share with you, trusting you will be encouraged, too. I was thanking Him for things He’s done in my life, for ways He’s provided, for the amazing people I call family and friends. In thanking Him, I found a promise!
I was praying for a prodigal whose life needs to be protected, something I often pray over prodigals, but this morning the Lord reminded me He has protected this particular life so many times, and He will continue to do so! The danger may be different this time, but it doesn’t stop His protection. He has miraculously protected all our prodigals more times than we know, and even when circumstances change or difficulty gets thrown in our face, it doesn’t change the purpose of our sovereign God!
Then, He took me to my book Trust God As (p. 32). I’ve been methodically reading through it for praise points during my prayer time, and right now I am in a list of verses revealing His sovereignty. I felt I was supposed to read them again, and they hit powerfully, encouraged, strengthened, and I want to share them with you. Each verse spoke a new level of peace and faith to me!
If you are struggling with some part of your prodigal’s life or the life of someone else’s prodigal for whom you pray, read these verses slowly, and let the Word of God minister to you, encourage you, and build your faith, which is the opposite of what Satan wants for you in this journey.
- “Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand” (Isaiah 14:24 KJV).
- “‘I work, and who will reverse it?’” (Isaiah 43:13).
- “For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast” (Psalm 33:9).
- “I know whatever God does, It shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it, And nothing taken from it. God does it, that men should fear before Him” (Ecclesiastes 3:14).
- “There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD” (Proverbs 21:30 KJV).
- “‘For with God nothing shall be impossible’” (Luke 1:37 KJV).
- “[N]either is there any that can deliver out of my hand” (Deuteronomy 32:39 KJV).
Nothing can stop our God! No one can undo what He has done! What He has spoken will be done! Nothing can outsmart Him or change His counsel! No one and nothing can take from His hand something we’ve placed there! There is nothing He can’t do! His plans and purposes will come to fruition!
These verses are full of reasons to praise Him! They are full of promises that speak to purpose that cannot be denied!
PRAYER: Our Father, Satan tries to stop Your purposes in _______’s life, and I ask You to stop Satan. Destroy the weapons formed against _______ before they affect him/her (Isaiah 54:17). Stop Satan from killing _______ before his/her time (John 10:10). You have a plan for _______ (Psalm 33:11), and I pray in Your perfect will for provision and protection while Your purpose is fulfilled. In Jesus’ name I pray.
