Tyrone’s Testimony

(This testimony of God’s faithfulness to answer prayer is given from the viewpoint of Tyrone’s niece, Christy.)

My Uncle Tyrone was the youngest of five boys. His mother, my grandmother, was a
godly woman who prayed for all her sons to know the Lord. However, she died at an
early age. Tyrone was in a terrible motorcycle wreck when he was a teenager. He was
in a head-on collision with another motorcycle rider, and they didn’t think he would
survive that wreck. He survived, but he had scars up and down his body. Years went by.
One day in November of 2014, he had multiple heart attacks, and his son rushed him to
the emergency room. By the time I got to the hospital, my other uncle told me that he
was likely brain-dead and that he wouldn’t survive. They had his body cooled down and
would slowly bring his temperature back up to see how his body responded. It didn’t
look good, and we were told to say our goodbyes. We went into the ICU area, and I felt
compelled to pray for him. I asked the family members to pray, and my uncle led the
prayer, but I didn’t have peace in my spirit afterward. God told me to pray for his
healing. I argued back and forth with God because the prognosis didn’t look good, and I
didn’t want to look silly. The feeling would not go away, so I prayed aloud for him in front
of my family and spoke life over him and reminded him how God had saved him in that
motorcycle wreck all those years ago. I prayed boldly. The Holy Spirit gave me the
words to say. There was no response right away and we went home. The next day, they
brought his temperature up, and his brain was fine. He lived for many more years. Years
later, he gave his life to the Lord before he ultimately passed away. Tyrone had a godly
mother who prayed for all of her sons to know the Lord, and even though she died at an
early age, her prayers were still answered many years later. I hope this story
encourages you to never give up on your Prodigal sons and daughters.
