Prayer to the God of Hope

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit”  (Romans 15:13 NKJV).

Lately this has been my prayer for prodigals.

Too many believe there is no hope for their salvation.

Too many say they no longer believe in God.

There is no joy or peace for the one who has chosen not to believe in God. The turmoil in rejecting belief in God is evident in their lives, and worry over going to sleep and waking up in hell is a reality to those who do not believe they can ever be saved. The turmoil is real.

But praying this verse battles, and wins, over these lies.

Our God is THE God of hope, and He will fill them with ALL joy and peace in believing.

I love the words fill and all and abound in this verse. And then there is the “by the power of the Holy Spirit!” There is no end to the joy and peace and hope prodigals can have as a result of our prayers, because the power of the Holy Spirit is boundless!

And when we pray, things change for them.

Keep praying! Keep believing for them! Our God of hope is hearing and answering!

God of hope, fill __________ with all joy and peace in believing, that he/she may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’s name I pray.
