We’ve been praying that God would show Himself to our prodigals in ways they would see, in ways that would matter to them, and He is! We are so very thankful, aren’t we, for the prayers we’ve already seen answered?
There are times when I am praying certain specific things for different prodigals, I sense the Holy Spirit telling me that I either don’t have to pray for that particular thing anymore, because it is done, or that our prayers have almost chiseled through certain strongholds! There are times it is even difficult for me to pray for a prodigal’s salvation, because it feels that done! I expect a message from that prodigal’s pray-er at any time saying that person is saved and has completely surrendered to the Lord!
I believe some of you are experiencing the same things in your prayer time. It is very encouraging, and our raindrops (obvious answers to prayer in their lives) testify of the same things![i] Isolations are being broken, ungodly relationships are ended, strongholds are broken, and hearts of stone have been replaced with hearts of flesh!
We’ve prayed for so long that it can be hard to grasp that there are certain things just done and completed to the place that we no longer have to cover it in prayer. Instead, it is time to rejoice and thank God for hearing and answering those specific prayers. It is time to trust that what He says is true! It is time to rest on His promises!
If you aren’t experiencing the doneness of certain things you are praying about for your prodigal(s), rest assured that God is still hearing and answering your prayers for them, so keep praying until you experience that doneness. He promised over and over in His Word to hear the cry of the righteous. Your time is coming. Just keep praying until then!
PROMISE: “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6 NKJV).
PRAISE: Faithful
PRAYER: Our Father, thank You for all You’ve done in answer to my prayers–the things I can see, the things You are telling me, and the things for which I see no evidence yet. Thank You for clearing the path back to You and preparing __________’s heart to receive You. Thank You for every stronghold that is already broken and for the ones being broken. I trust You to complete the work You’ve begun, because You are faithful! Give me the strength and wisdom to navigate this final huge push for __________’s salvation, tell me what prayers You want me to pray, and stop every effort of Satan aimed at keeping __________ in sin and separated from You (Isaiah 54:17; John 10:10). In Jesus’ name I pray.
